US Employees praised for helping attacked woman

May 2006

Two Texan employees of ICI Paints were commended after coming to the aid of a woman attacked in the car park shared by ICI Paints in Bellaire, Texas earlier this year.

As she screamed, the two ICI Paints employees, Randall Parsons, Store Manager and Trace Hearn, then Store Supervisor, ran to her assistance. The assailant fled the scene. Shaken but otherwise unharmed, Treadwell was comforted by Parsons and Hearn, who dialed 911 and waited with her until the police arrived.

Once the Bellaire Police Department arrived on scene, the ICI employees were able to describe the attacker and his getaway vehicle to the officers.

"Randall Parsons and Trace Hearn exemplify the values of ICI Paints. As a company, we applaud their actions and bravery in a potentially dangerous situation," said Joe Williams, Vice President, Trade Operations.

The attack victim later wrote to the company saying: "You are very fortunate to have such exceptional men in your employ and I am extremely grateful that they were looking out for me that day."
